Health & Life Plans

Oregon State University offers comprehensive health and life insurance plans for employees, including various medical, dental, and vision options, as well as mental health resources. Basic life insurance is provided at no cost, with optional additional coverage available. Retirement Plans 

OSU offers retirement plans such as the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) for eligible employees. Employees can choose between defined benefit plans like PERS, which includes tiers and an Individual Account Program, or the defined contribution ORP, managed through providers like Fidelity and TIAA. Additional voluntary savings options, including the Tax Deferred Investment 403(b) Plan and the Oregon Savings Growth 457 Plan, are available to help employees save for retirement. Lifestyle Benefits

Oregon State University offers a range of Lifestyle Benefits through Corestream, providing employees with access to specially negotiated group rates on various insurance plans and discounts. These benefits include accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, auto, home, and pet insurance, as well as a discount shopping suite. Employees can enroll in accident, critical illness, and hospital insurance during the annual open enrollment period, while auto, home, and pet insurance can be enrolled in at any time. Time Off, Holidays, & Leaves

OSU provides employees with a comprehensive holiday schedule, including paid time off for 10 holidays. Faculty and staff accrue vacation and sick leave based on their employment status, with options for personal leave and compensatory time also available. The university supports protected leaves such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA), ensuring employees can balance work and personal needs. Tuition Reduction

OSU offers a staff fee reduction that provides eligible employees significant tuition discounts, allowing them or one family member to enroll in courses at OSU or other participating Oregon public universities at just 30% of the resident per credit hour undergraduate tuition rate. This benefit covers up to 12 credit hours per term and supports professional development and lifelong learning.
